Check out my blog
On-Air: Midnight to 5 AM Monday through Thursday Noon to 6 PM Saturdays 1 PM to 5 PM Sundays
Born: September 11th, 1984 right here in Bowling Green.
Interest: My fiancée Amy, as she is always a lot of fun and is a constant encouragement to me. I play the guitar and love playing the blues. I am a huge history buff, especially when it comes to the Civil War. Besides being a bit bookwormish and somewhat musically inclined, I spend a lot of time outside camping, fishing, hiking, and generally enjoying the great outdoors. I’m also a huge rifle fanatic and hope to one day own an 1874 replica Sharps rifle. Lastly I am a St. Louis Cardinals fiend. Baseball is the king of all sports and I can prove it to you if you’d like.
Education: I graduated Logan County High School in 2002 and currently attend WKU. I am a double major in history and social studies with a minor in political science. My specific concentration is 19th Century America.
Favorite Foods: The All-American basics. I don’t stray too far unless Amy pushes for a particular kind of dish. So if you’re grilling a steak or some burgers with a side of potatoes I’m down for dinner.
Favorite Books: The Lonesome Dove series by Larry McMurtry (“Comanche Moon”, “Lonesome Dove”, etc), various biographies over such people as Mark Twain, U.S. Grant, Andrew Jackson, anything by Mark Twain, “Twilight at Little Round Top” by my Civil War professor Dr. Glenn LaFantasie, “The Destructive War” by Charles Royster, “Founding Brothers” by Joseph J. Ellis, and a ton of others.
Favorite Musicians/Bands: Carbon Leaf, R.E.M., Alan Jackson, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, Jack Johnson, Robert Johnson, 19th Century American Folk Music, Trace Adkins, John Mellencamp, Sara Evans
Favorite Television Shows: With the exception of baseball and the news, I rarely watch television.
Favorite Movies: Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, Lonesome Dove, Comanche Moon, Quigley Down Under, 300, Gods and Generals, A River Runs Through It, Glory, Lord of the Rings, Tombstone, The Last Season, Field of Dreams, The Sandlot, Bull Durham, Pirates of the Caribbean.
Radio Career: I started out in Russellville at AM 610 WRUS when I was 15 and have been in and out of radio since.
The Weirdness Within: I hatehatehatehate odd numbers which is odd in and of itself as I was born in an odd month on an odd day. I also must have all doors, cabinets, and drawers shut. Once I came home and my buddies had every cabinet and door open. I thought I might go crazy.
Favorite Quotes: “I haven't any right to criticise books, and I don't do it except when I hate them. I often want to criticise Jane Austen, but her books madden me so that I can't conceal my frenzy from the reader; and therefore I have to stop every time I begin. Everytime I read 'Pride and Prejudice' I want to dig her up and beat her over the skull with her own shin-bone.” - Mark Twain, Letter to Joseph Twichell, 9/13/1898
“A historian who would convey the truth must lie. Often he must enlarge the truth by diameters, otherwise his reader would not be able to see it.” - Mark Twain, a Biography
